4th of July

I was really busy the 4th of July weekend. We went out everyday because there was something planned.

I went to a housewarming and met another baby girl there, and I was shy around her.

I went to Gabriel's first birthday, which was a lot of fun, and Uncle Philip had me making funny noises with my mouth all weekend.

I went to a BBQ, and afterwards I saw a couple fireworks, and I was amazed by them. But I couldn't see more because I was SOO tired from staying up past my bedtime so my parents just put me to bed. I can't wait until next year!

Understanding What "No" Means

These next pictures show what happens when I hear mommy say "no" to me. My mommy tries not to laugh because she thinks it's so funny that I can understand what she means. It confuses me, though, because she starts out all serious and stern but then ends up laughing and smiling and taking pictures!!

Happy First Birthday to Me!

It's my official birthday today! I am now one year old. How exciting! Happy Birthday to Gabriel, who also turns one today! I'll be going to his birthday party later. I had my party on Saturday, and it was so much fun, and I was SO TIRED. Thank you so much to everyone who came! We were very touched by all the love and support you showed to our family. I will post more on that later when we get the pictures. Here are some pictures of me in my hanbok. My mommy made me take pictures in it today just for my blog post. I also put up pictures of my dogs, who just got groomed.

Almost One Year Old

Sorry I haven't posted for so long. My parents have been going out a lot and mommy has been been busy at home. Also, my poor daddy got sick last week with strep throat, and now he's sick with pneumonia! :( We think he's past the contagious stage, and we're praying that mommy and I don't catch it. It's much harder these days for me to sit still to take pictures, and these new pictures of me were hard to get. I'm always moving. My parents are waiting for me to walk any day now. I'm able to stand by myself for some seconds, and I can walk around the room with my musical lawnmower. I'm turning one in about ten days, and so are a lot of other babies. My friend Nathan already turned one a few days ago (Happy Birthday, Nathan!), my friend Isabel is turning one on June 24, and my other friend Gabriel will turn one on the same day as me! How exciting!

Hot Weather

Some new things have been happening to me because of the hot weather...

I wake up from my sleep with my hair all wet from my sweat. Sometimes it's spiked straight up. I also wake up sometimes crankier because I'm so hot.

I went swimming for the first time on Sunday! I LOVED it. I splashed in the water like crazy, and I liked it when my parents would swirl me around and I could see my legs swish and leave trails in the water. When I first entered the water, I made a little gasping noise because I wasn't expecting it!

Mommy bought me a fisherman hat to protect my face from the sun. It's also for Hawaii. I take it off whenever I can, unless I'm distracted. When we go outside and I have my hat on, I get so many admirers. :)

Here's a new trick the dogs have learned: when mommy asks them, "Where's Joshua?" they'll come and touch me with their noses. Dodger can do this better than Jolie.

Here are a LOT of pictures, so beware... the first 3 were taken about a month ago.
